Our Story

My name is Angela Raines. I am married to Andrew, a very understanding husband who often takes 2nd place to the cats. We have 5 children, ranging in age from 2 to 13. So as you can imagine, the kittens are well and truly adjusted to kids. The mums and kittens are raised in our home. (Or maybe I should say, our kids are raised in the cat’s home).

The reason I chose Ragdolls for breeding is for their affection and love of being around people and being an indoor cat. If you like cats in your bed or under your feet, then the Ragdoll is for you. If you want an outdoor cat to catch mice, then you’re looking at the wrong breed.

I’m a stay at home mum and with 4 of the children at school, I was looking for something to occupy myself with. Going out to work wasn’t an option, so my love for cats became my hobby. My first concern was whether or not I’d be able to part with the kittens. I did manage it, although the kids do get upset. They always pick nicknames for the kittens. You do get a feeling about people when you talk to or see them and if I don’t get a good vibe I won’t let one of our kittens go to their home.

I am registered with the QFA and stand by their Code of Ethics. This means our kittens stay with us until they’re approx. 12-14 weeks. They would have had their 2 vaccinations, wormed, vet checked, desexed and registered with papers.
